Gasification method + dry method
The raw material sulphur is firstly melted, and then sent to the furnace with tube heater, the sulphur is evaporated in the furnace, and the sulphur vapour gasification temperature in the furnace is controlled to be 500~700℃. Relying on its superheated steam pressure, direct high-speed spray into the carbon disulfide containing a stabiliser cooling medium, to get a plastic or powdery mixture of soluble and insoluble sulphur, which contains up to 60% of amorphous sulphur insoluble in carbon disulfide, to be cured after the soluble sulphur is extracted with carbon disulfide solvent, through filtration or centrifugal separation to get rid of the carbon disulfide, and the rest of the particles are porous. The remaining granules are porous IS, and after drying they are IS products (9035 99 8).
The advantages of gasification method are high conversion rate of sulphur, high content of IS, good quality, especially high thermal stability and good dispersion. Disadvantages are high toxicity of carbon disulphide, flammable and explosive, the process is more complex, harsh conditions, equipment corrosive.
Gasification method + wet method

The sulphur vapour gasification temperature is controlled to be 500~700°C in the furnace. Relying on its superheated steam pressure, direct high-speed spray into the cooling water medium containing a certain stabiliser, to get a plastic mixture of soluble sulfur and insoluble sulfur, through the press as well as rinsing with the system water to make it cured, after crushing, soluble sulfur solvent extraction with carbon disulphide in which carbon disulfide is removed through filtration into a centrifugal separation method, the remaining particles of the heat that is IS, drying that is the IS products (cas) 9035 99 8).
The process can produce medium grade IS, power consumption, equipment corrosion is serious, the operation of the lack of safety, high cost, poor quality, especially high thermal stability, poor dispersion, high acidity. Extraction with carbon disulphide is seriously polluted, flammable and explosive, which seriously restricts the normal production and the expansion of the scale of the plant. Using water as idling coolant produces a large amount of sulphur-containing and warm wastewater, which is difficult to manage and pollutes the environment.
Insoluble sulphur often appears in the chemical industry, the demand is large, insoluble sulphur uses more, can choose the way of production for their own requirements.
