Insoluble sulfur is a transparent, amorphous chain like elastic sulfur obtained by heating sulfur powder to boiling (444.6 degrees Celsius) and rapidly cooling it in cold water. It can also be prepared by diluting superheated sulfur vapor with inert gas and spraying it in cold water mist to cool to below 90 ℃, or by dissolving sulfur block in ammonia and immediately spray drying. Due to the majority (65% to 95%) being insoluble in carbon disulfide, it is called insoluble sulfur. If insoluble sulfur is accidentally ingested during production, the following methods can be used:
1. After discovering symptoms of poisoning, it is important to remove the toxins as soon as possible; Wash the stomach with clean water and simultaneously administer catharsis to help patients eliminate the absorption of toxins.
2. Immediately administer oxygen to the patient and administer glucose for detoxification after poisoning.
3. If mild poisoning occurs, it can be mixed with green bean powder for consumption, or chopped grapefruit leaves and stewed in water for drinking, which can have a detoxifying effect.
4. If the patient is orally poisoned, they should immediately have their stomach washed, using a 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution or 0.15% lime water for oral emesis and gastric lavage for detoxification
5. If it is eye poisoning, wash the eyes with 2% to 3% boric acid solution, then drop eye drops and apply antibiotic eye ointment for anti-inflammatory purposes.
6. If the poisoning is severe, clean up the poison as soon as possible and give 120 first aid.
If insoluble sulfur is accidentally ingested, the above methods can be used, but it is still important to remind everyone to use it with caution during the production process.
